Carnival Cruise Line has announced that it will extend its protocols through February 2022. This will allow the company to continue to provide guests with a luxurious experience while also taking care of their personal data.
Carnival Cruise Line is extending the protocols that they require their guests to have for a total of 11 months. Read more in detail here: carnival cruise require covid vaccine.
Enjoy yourself. Carnival Cruise Line’s onboard and pre-boarding health standards will be in effect throughout the new year. Guests who want to travel on a Carnival Cruise ship from now until February 2022 will need to get vaccinated.
As a result, the cruise company is ahead of the CDC, which will make a decision on the Conditional Sail Order later this month. Choosing to follow current health guidelines rather than waiting to see what the CDC would do.
Enjoy yourself. In the year 2022, be safe.
Carnival Cruise Line has taken steps in its own hands only weeks before the CDC is scheduled to determine whether or not to renew the Conditional Sail Order. The cruise company’s health procedures have performed well throughout the resumption of operations, and with the virus still circulating, it’s no surprise that the cruise line has made this choice now.
It implies that all passengers above the age of 12 must be completely vaccinated before boarding. This entails receiving a complete dose of one Johnson & Johnson vaccination and two doses of the other vaccines at least 14 days before to sailing. Carnival also respects the CDC’s rules, which specify that visitors who have received combined doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations are only allowed to mix vaccines.
Any additional differences indicate that the visitors have not been properly immunized. Vaccination tests for vaccinated passengers must still be completed within two days of the sailing date. Guests may do so at a certified testing facility or at home using authorized test kits.
Guests on Dialysis or Oxygen
Guests who need oxygen for medical reasons are not authorized to cruise and will not be permitted to travel until March 2022, according to Carnival Cruise Line Ambassador John Heald.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate passengers who need oxygen or dialysis on sailings during our restart period,” the cruise company said (through March 2022). Guests who utilize oxygen concentrators are included in this category. We are hopeful that on future sailings, our approach will become more flexible.”
There will be no exemptions in 2022.
Exemption requests for sailings in 2022 are unlikely to be granted by Carnival. The cruise company believes that the FDA will approve vaccines for children shortly, and that children will be able to get vaccinated before the holiday season. Carnival’s website said the following:

“At this time, the vaccination exemption procedure for sailings in 2022 is closed. We are hopeful that vaccinations for children aged 5 to 11 years will be authorized and accessible by the end of the year, allowing us to welcome back more of our families with young children! As the situation develops, we will keep visitors informed.”

Vaccine exemptions will be offered on a limited basis for children under the age of twelve on Caribbean cruises until December 31, 2021.
Other cruises, such as the Carnival Pride, which departs Baltimore on October 31, 2021; the Carnival Glory, which departs New Orleans on November 28, 2021; and the Carnival Miracle, which departs Long Beach on November 28, 2021, will only provide exemptions if needed by law.
Carnival Cruise Line seems to be adamant about its vaccination requirements. Until recently, Carnival permitted certain adults who had not chosen to get vaccinated on board; this will be phased out in the new year.

Many will be pleased with the cruise company’s continuing tougher stance on health standards aboard the ships; however, others wishing for an end to the restrictions will be unhappy that the cruise line has chosen to take this step.
Carnival will view the steps as necessary to safeguard its economic interests after a 15-month hiatus in operations in 2020-2021.
