Carnival Cruise Line has long had a strong presence in Charleston. The city is easily accessible by plane, automobile, or public transportation, and it’s a great place to visit for a few days to soak up some southern hospitality.

“Following a long-term pause in cruise operations since March 2020 in response to the global pandemic, SC Ports has worked with cruise partners and DHEC to align with all CDC requirements and cruise line protocols as cruise operations resume,” said Liz Crumley of the South Carolina Ports Authority in a statement.
When a ship is docked, a team of workers will disinfect high-touch locations such as handrails, doorknobs, and other surfaces on a regular basis. Face masks will be required at all times within the terminal and aboard the ferry.

Except for those who have acquired a vaccination exemption from Carnival Cruise Line, all passengers must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before to departure. The cruise company has also introduced a slew of health and safety precautions, including social segregation, improved cleanliness, and more.
The only major cruise line that offers voyages from Charleston is Carnival. Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas will make a few port visits to the southern city in the coming months.
