Celebrity Cruises has announced that it will return two more of their luxury ships to sailing after a year-long layoff. Celebrity’s decision follows the trend of other cruise lines, which are returning to sail for various reasons ranging from increased demand and lower fuel prices.

Celebrity Cruises has announced that they will be returning two more luxury ships to sailing. The company is also planning on expanding their fleet by adding four new ships in the next few years.

After last year’s worldwide cruising hiatus, Celebrity Cruises announced today that two more of its ships had re-entered operation, sailing once again to ‘Journey WonderFULL.’ Following the re-launch of Celebrity Reflection and Celebrity Constellation this week, 10 of Celebrity’s 14 new-luxury cruise ships will begin sailing in 2021, after a 15-month hiatus.

Celebrity Reflection set off from Fort Lauderdale on a seven-night Caribbean journey that brings passengers to The Bahamas, Mexico, Belize, and Honduras, precisely 600 days after disembarking her last passenger prior to the operational hiatus.

The next day, the Celebrity Constellation set off from its new homeport in Tampa Bay on her maiden post-pandemic itinerary, which would take her to Belize and Cozumel, Mexico. The two ships will sail for roughly six months throughout the Eastern and Western Caribbean before beginning on transatlantic excursions to Europe, where they will sail itineraries to some of Europe’s most enticing locations, such as Italy, Spain, Greece, and Croatia.

“We can absolutely state that the news of the return of these two beautiful ships is a shift in the right direction as we welcome our passengers back on board,” said Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo. “The healing power of travel that we have all been seeking will be provided by the experiences our visitors will have onboard these lovely new luxury ships.”

As part of the cruise line’s staggered resumption, eight additional ships in Celebrity’s new-luxury fleet have resumed sailing, including:

—The Celebrity Apex has arrived in the Caribbean, where she will be conducting seven- to nine-night cruises until Spring 2022.

—Celebrity Edge, which set sail from Fort Lauderdale on June 26 as the first post-pandemic cruise ship, is operating a rotating schedule of Eastern and Western Caribbean routes.

—In the Southern Caribbean, the Celebrity Equinox is presently conducting six- to 12-night trips.

—Celebrity Flora, the brand’s purpose-built 100-passenger mega-yacht, as well as the even more intimate 16-passenger Celebrity Xploration, have resumed sailing their Galapagos excursions.

—Through the rest of 2021, the Celebrity Millennium will run seven-night Caribbean itineraries before traveling west to conduct Alaska trips in 2022.

—Since July 3, the celebrity Silhouette has been cruising the British shoreline.

—In the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas, the Celebrity Summit is sailing three- to five-night itineraries.
