Many families are preferring to travel to their holiday destinations and visit vacation areas that are close to home while COVID-19 continues to throw curveballs our way,” said Alison Kwong, Vrbo representative. “Travelers may discover a popular vacation spot within 300 miles of any major area in the country on Vrbo, which is around a three- to four-hour car journey.”
Demand for developing locations such as Cincinnati, Ohio; Yorktown, Virginia; Niagara Falls, New York; and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, quadrupled year over year, according to Vrbo’s data, and the destinations are within driving distance of major metro regions in the Northeast and Midwest.
