Norwegian Cruise Line has decided to alter their payment deadlines, which may make it more difficult on those who need an emergency card.
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that they will be adjusting their final payment deadlines. This means that passengers who book a cruise before January 31, 2019 will have until March 31, 2019 to make the final payment. Passengers who book a cruise on or after February 1, 2019 will have until April 30, 2019 to make the final payments. Read more in detail here: norwegian cruise line deposit policy.
Norwegian Cruise Line has changed its final payment requirements from 120 days to 60 days before departing to provide passengers greater flexibility and confidence in their cruise holiday planning. This enables guests to make changes to their payments and be more careful when booking future voyages.
The payment deadline has been rescheduled.
Previously, complete payment for an upcoming voyage had to be paid no later than 120 days before departing, according to Norwegian Cruise Line’s standard final payment deadline. The policy has now been amended for the foreseeable future, according to the revised frequently asked questions on NCL.com.
The FAQ states, “We have kindly amended our final payment plan for cruises departing through and including April 30, 2022.” “Final Payment has been modified from 120 days prior to sailing to 60 days prior to sailing for cruises departing through and including April 30, 2022. Final payment and cancellation policies will remain the same for all cruises departing after May 1, 2022.”
Fee Schedule for NCL Cancellations
Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled planned sailings on 8 different boats, including last-minute cancellations and postponing the resumption of certain ships, according to the report, which was issued at the end of December 2021.
Many cruise passengers plan their vacations a year or more in advance to secure their preferred ships, itinerary, and accommodations. However, due to the upheaval caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, many more customers are booking sailings with shorter lead periods. This is particularly true now that new ships are starting to sail, cruise companies are offering tempting offers, and future cruise credits from previously canceled cruises must be utilized before they expire.
The modification to the final payment deadline allows potential Norwegian customers to make new holiday arrangements with confidence, knowing that they will have financial flexibility as their cruise approaches, in case the voyage circumstances change and they decide to revise their plans.
This follows similar announcements from other cruise companies, including as changes to cancellation deadlines from Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International.
Policy of Mindfulness
Norwegian Cruise Line’s Peace of Mind insurance is unaffected by this payment deadline change. This policy applies to new and current reservations made before January 31, 2022 for any cruise departing between January 31 and May 31, 2022.

Guests may cancel those sailings up to and including January 31, 2022, and get a full refund in the form of a Future Cruise Credit (FCC). That FCC must be utilized for all new sailings beginning after December 31, 2022.
After May 1, 2022, no cancellations will be accepted.
Norwegian clients will be subject to the cruise line’s standard cancellation policy when the final payment deadline adjustment expires, and normal cancellation charges will apply. This may include fines ranging from 25% to 100%, depending on the duration of the cruise, the kind of cabin booked, and how far in advance of the cruise the cancellation is made.
These rules only apply if a booked visitor cancels their vacation; if the cruise company suspends voyages, it may provide additional terms and compensation, such as refunds, future cruise credits, discounts, or other incentives.
