Norwegian Cruise Line is providing peace of mind and increased security for guests traveling on all voyages by offering new policies that require a photo ID to be checked against government watch lists. The updated policy will help keep guests safe while onboard, enhancing the maritime experience with additional steps taken to protect everyone’s privacy.

Norwegian Cruise Line has updated their peace of mind policy. The new policy includes a no refund or change-of-dates policy that is in effect for the next six months.

Norwegian Cruise Line has extended its Peace of Mind booking guarantee, as ports of call tighten testing procedures, cruise itineraries are changed at the last minute, and instances of the Omicron strain continue to grow. This will provide potential cruise customers more flexibility in their holiday arrangements, as well as more assurance that their booking deposits and payments would not be jeopardized if plans must be altered.

Extending the Policy of Mindfulness

The Norwegian Cruise Line’s Peace of Mind policy enables passengers to amend or cancel their cruise holiday arrangements up to the final payment or embarkation date and get a refund or a Future Cruise Credit (FCC), ensuring that their vacation investment is protected.

“Simply stated, for new and current reservations made by January 31, 2022, for any cruise with an embarkation date through and including May 31, 2022, customers are free to cancel up to and including January 31, 2022,” according to an update on NCL.com.

Previously, the insurance was only valid through October 31, 2021. Guests who have cruises scheduled in January 2022 may now modify their bookings without penalty.

Guests who cancel their Norwegian cruise holiday will get a Future Voyage Credit in the amount of the cruise’s entire price. This credit may be used to any booking made between now and December 31, 2022.

Guests will get a full refund of any cash paid back to their original form of payment if they have not yet completed their final payment and the trip is not completely paid for. The sole exception is if visitors utilized a Future Cruise Credit for the booking they are now canceling, in which case the FCC will be restored to their account for future use rather than being reimbursed to the original payment.

Pre-paid extras like as shore excursions, beverage packages, specialty dining reservations, pre-paid internet, and Bon Voyage presents will not be included in future Cruise Credits. Those fees will be reimbursed to the original payment method.

Future Cruise Credits may take up to 14 days to be transferred to guests’ accounts, and refunds can take up to 60 days to be reimbursed to payment methods.

It’s Critical to Be Flexible

It might be difficult for anybody to plan travel in the near future when there is so much ambiguity regarding ports of call, itineraries, onboard procedures, international testing requirements, and fully vaccinated definitions. The amended policy from Norwegian Cruise Line allows passengers to prepare ahead of time while being flexible when circumstances change.

This policy may also be beneficial to cruise passengers worried about the recent upgrade to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) cruise travel warning, which has raised cruises to Level 4 and recommends against any ship travel, regardless of vaccination status.

Although every cruise company has various rules and circumstances for altering plans, Norwegian’s new policy is comparable to other cruise lines’ policies for cancellations and rebookings. Guests who have made a reservation for a cruise in the near future should be aware of their alternatives and flexible with their travel arrangements in case more modifications are required.
