The word “exotic” gets thrown around a lot, but what does it mean? For the Latin-Spanish themed resort in Mexico known as Paradisus, exotic is an allusion to their signature dishes like the gourmet rotisserie chicken. Now guests can actually prepare and cook those specialties from their favorite position over an open fire pit at The Epicure restaurant where they will have unobstructed views of the entire kitchen—and its rotating chefs!
The “paradisus” is a new interactive rotating chef experience that debuted at the Meliá Debuts. The experience will allow guests to interact with an actual human chef as they learn about culinary techniques, ingredients and more.
WHY IT RATES: Guests of the resorts and tourists who are not staying at Paradisus may enjoy this innovative dining experience. — Managing Editor Codie Liermann
The Epicure, a new upgraded dining guest experience at Paradisus by Meliá, a waterfront all-inclusive luxury resort brand owned and managed by Spanish hotel operator Meliá Hotels International, has been revealed.
At Paradisus Cancun, Paradisus Playa del Carmen, Paradisus La Perla, and Paradisus Los Cabos, Mexico’s greatest culinary talents will work with the resort’s senior chefs to create a unique and exciting dining experience. Sal Steak Cave at Paradisus Cancun, Paradisus Playa del Carmen, and Paradisus La Perla, as well as Le Petit Chef at Paradisus Los Cabos, will be hosting the Epicure.
What’s Hot Right Now
The dinners will alternate between Paradisus Cancun, Paradisus Playa del Carmen, Paradisus La Perla, and Paradisus Los Cabos beginning April 22, 2022 and taking place many times each month. Irving Cano of Casa 1810, Fernando Martinez Zavala of Migrant Michelin Star Chef Vicente Torres, and Sergio Camacho of renowned Mexican television series El Gourmet are among the featured Mexican chefs, who will rotate around the three resorts during the year.
Chefs will educate guests on numerous issues in the business as well as their personal culinary skills while engaging with diners prior to presenting their distinctive meals at each Epicure dining experience, which will be designed around a one-of-a-kind culinary theme. Oaxacan gastronomy, sustainability, rare Mexican seafood, and more are among the topics covered. Limited space is available for the eight-course set menu, which begins at $140 per person. Visitors visiting Mexico who are not staying at Paradisus are invited to book The Epicure as well.
Guests who book The Epicure as part of Paradisus’ premium guest experience, The Reserve, will also have the opportunity to participate in a private workshop with the guest chef. They will learn more about the chef’s culinary skills as well as how to make one of the chef’s most renowned meals in this session.
This new programming compliments a number of new guest experiences that have recently launched at Paradisus by Meliá locations in Mexico, including the introduction of SUDA, a new holistic training program that specializes in creating novel and exclusive wellness experiences.
Guests may follow the resorts’ Instagram profiles at @ParadisusCancun, @ParadisusPlaya, and @ParadisusLosCabos for a complete list of guest chefs and dinners, as well as frequent updates.
