With the deployment of Rhapsody of the Seas for a range of summer sailings in 2022 and 2023, Royal Caribbean International is happy to announce ongoing options from Cyprus. Following the successful 2021 season with Jewel of the Seas, this will be the vessel’s first time homeporting in Cyprus.
The Rhapsody of the Seas will dock in Cyprus.
In August and September 2022, the Rhapsody of the Seas, a Vision-class ship, will begin operating roundtrip from Limassol, Cyprus. The initial cruises will be 7-night Greek Isles cruises that will explore the vivid culture and excitement of Rhodes and Santorini, with stops in Athens, Greece, and Haifa, Israel.
Onboard activities will be customized to the area, including Cypriot-inspired dining options, local performers, and a Greek version of the Cruise Compass daily email.
“Cyprus is a vital and developing market for Royal Caribbean, and it provides the ideal gateway for our passengers to explore the eastern Mediterranean,” says Ben Bouldin, vice president of Royal Caribbean International’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa division. “We’re looking forward to returning to this lovely island for the next two summers and having even more Cypriots on board.”

Rhapsody of the Seas will begin the winter season with a selection of cruises from Haifa, Israel, before heading to the Caribbean for sailings from Bridgetown, Barbados, ranging from 5 to 14 nights and calling on popular southern Caribbean ports like Aruba, Curacao, Trinidad, Grenada, St. Lucia, and more.
With a 17-night Transatlantic Crossing cruise leaving Miami, Florida on April 29, 2023, Rhapsody of the Seas will return straight to Limassol. From May through August, when the ship returns to her Mediterranean homeport, the ship will provide 7-night Israel and Egypt excursions, as well as Greece and Turkey itineraries, before returning to Haifa, Israel in early November 2023.
“It has been an honor to welcome Royal Caribbean in 2021, which was another hard year for global tourism,” says Savvas Perdios, Deputy Minister of Tourism Cyprus. We’re happy of what both sides have accomplished, and we’re looking forward to expanding our partnership in 2022 and 2023!”
To further support the local economy of its new homeport, cruises departing from Limassol will be exclusively available through four new travel companies who are experts in the local market: Top Kinisis Travel, Let’s Go Tours by Amathus, Century Travel, and Louis Travel. Royal Caribbean International will also continue working with existing partner, Navigator Travel & Tourist Services Ltd., to bring these fine getaways to eager passengers.

Though Rhapsody of the Seas is one of Royal Caribbean’s oldest ships, having been launched in 1997 (only Grandeur of the Seas is older), she had a significant $54 million makeover in 2012, followed by minor repairs and renovations in 2016 and 2019.
Rhapsody’s visitors may now unwind and rejuvenate in the Vitality Spa and Fitness Center, indulge themselves in the salon, and discover their inner peace in the adults-only Solarium. After a day of sightseeing, visitors may chill down in one of the two pools or one of the six whirlpools, and those seeking more excitement and boundless ocean vistas can scale the famous 40-foot-tall rock climbing wall. Izumi, Chop’s Grille, and Giovanni’s Table are among the ship’s favorite eating establishments.
The Rhapsody of the Seas’ Cyprus sailings are now available for booking, and they will undoubtedly provide passengers with unforgettable and incredible experiences while sailing through the rich Mediterranean regions where she will soon be sailing.
