The La Casa de la Playa Hotel Slated to Open in December is a new hotel that will open in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
On December 13, Grupo Xcaret’s newest project, La Casa de la Playa, will open in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
The $85 million luxury boutique hotel, designed with sustainability in mind by architect and Vice President of Strategy and Development David Quintana, will be nestled deep in the Mayan jungle on one of the world’s most coveted beaches, offering 63 unique ocean-view suites, each with more than 100 square meters of living space and numerous amenities such as a private pool and spa cabana.
What’s Hot Right Now
Aside from the incredible accommodations, La Casa de la Playa will also feature an ocean-view library, a chocolate shop with treats from famous chocolatier Mao Montiel, and a number of delectable dining options, including Tuch de Luna by renowned celebrity chef Martha Ortiz and Estero by Virgilio Martinez, who was named one of Latin America’s 50 Best Chefs.
Meanwhile, in Lumbre and Centli, the Rodrigo brothers Daniel and Patricio Rivera-Ro will present current tastes from Mexico’s northern and southern areas. For those looking for the ideal cup of coffee, La Casa de la Playa will also include a classic Cafeteca.
Guests may also get ancestral therapies inspired by Mayan mythology at the award-winning Muluk Spa. 13 spa treatment cabins, two salt rooms, two mudrooms, hydrotherapy options, sauna, steam and cold rooms, relaxation spaces, a beauty salon, a complete bridal suite, and an Alchemist’s Studio where visitors may create their own fragrances are just a few of the highlights.
The staff costumes will be designed by Mexican designer Carla Fernández, who will be inspired by the geometric patterns and richness of Mexican fabrics, adding to the charm and authenticity. Guests will also have access to The Room of Wonders, a Concept Store featuring Mexican art and textiles selected by Fernández.

Xcaret’s All-Fun Inclusive customized experiences also include one-of-a-kind activities, such as a thrilling midnight swim in an underground river or a romantic supper atop a cenote.
“We are grateful for the tremendous support for our new hotel project, which joins our Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Hotel Xcaret Arte families,” Quintana added. “La Casa de la Playa is a homage to the finest of Mexico, with the unifying thread of a deep love for our homeland.”
