On January 29, Silversea Cruises christened its third ship in just nine months. The new ship will be dubbed the Silver Muse and is slated for launch on April 25th 2020.

The christening ceremony onboard Silver Dawn included the national anthems of the United States, Italy, and Portugal, as well as a bagpipe performance by Royal Caribbean Group and the attendance of executives from Royal Caribbean Group, Silversea Cruises, and Fincantieri, as well as local dignitaries.
“Celebrating the naming of Silver Dawn in Lisbon was a very gratifying moment for everyone involved,” said Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty. “I applaud and thank Roberto Martinoli and our whole team, including Captain Failla and the crew, as well as everyone at Fincantieri, our shipbuilders.”

Nilou Motamed, the ship’s godmother and former editor-in-chief of some of the world’s most prestigious culinary brands, cut the ribbon releasing the bottle of champagne to crash against the ship’s hull.
“It’s an honor to have been chosen as Silver Dawn’s Godmother and to have been there at her naming ceremony in Lisbon,” Motamed added.
Motamed is proficient in four languages and thinks that “food is a language of its own, one in which everyone may find comfort, compassion, and community.” He was born in Iran and reared in Paris and New York. Silversea’s S.A.L.T. program, which started in 2021, is a wonderful fit for her interest for culinary excursions and world cuisines.

The new Otium wellness program, which includes a gourmet room service cuisine, specialty beverages, in-suite activities, and a wellness journey that spans the whole ship, makes its debut onboard Silver Dawn.

The First Voyage Has Begun
Silver Dawn sets sail from Lisbon on April 1 on a 17-day repositioning cruise to Rome, calling at beautiful ports along the route like Cadiz, Cartagena, Valencia, Marseilles, Saint-Tropez, Genoa, and Monte Carlo.
The 40,700-gross-ton ship provides 575-700 guests private luxury cruise experiences, with 408 crew members delivering exceptional service.
Silver Dawn will offer a selection of Mediterranean itineraries after her inaugural trip before heading to the Caribbean in early December.
